How to name your poison when you can't quite spell it

I've just updated my interests list to add beckerovka and slivovica. This is all /mel/'s fault - for introducing me to the dreadful stuff, a long time ago, and then for providing a spelling so I could finally add them as interests. Scarily, nobody else on LJ has done so...

Google has 29 hits on "beckerovka", two of which are /mel/, and asks "Did you mean: becherovka", which has 9,610 hits.

Well, see [livejournal.com profile] mr_tom's comment (and reply) for slivovica - it's hideously strong, does bad things to the taste buds and leaves you feeling warm and happy. Briefly. :)

Becherovka I haven't had in years, so my memories are a little fuzzy. But quite strong, very warming, and quite spiced, iirc. Hmm. Must get some more...

I have a medecine bottle full of AJ's Slovene girlfriend's grandfather's farm-made slivovic in the freezer.

It is delicious. And conservative estimates reckon that it's in the region of 75-80% alkyhol. After one shot, your head goes numb! :-)

I've not (knowingly) tried the homebrew, just the stuff that Mel's brought back from Slovakia. Very nice, just don't let it touch the sides of your throat... :)

Thats because no one else is silly enough to try anything strange on Mel's recomendation...:)..well okay...but only once....:)
