Election again

Voting's over. BBC just started talking about the exit polls - they predict Blair's majority will be cut to 66 (it was 167 after the last election).

John Prescott [our Deputy Prime Minister, for those of you not in the UK] is on the BBC live now. He does not look happy with those figures. How sad.

I did think the bookies' 5/1 odds on him punching someone was a nice touch.

He looked pretty cheery a little later on. Perhaps he was concerned about his own majority?

Like a lot of Labour MPs, Prescott sat through terms in opposition where a 66 majority was the stuff of pipe-dreams. To have it as the result in a third term is the sort of thing they'd have sold their grannies into slavery for. I suspect he can live with this happily enough.
