I'm amused. I decided, out of pure curiosity, to look at my amazon.co.uk recommended purchases - which are supposed to be tailored to me, based on what I've bought so far. Well, they suggest that I should buy "The Collected Columns of Julie Burchill".

Er... no. Not even if I run low on toilet paper.

On a happier note, it's trying to rain outside. At last.

Amazon silliness

It's recommending me the Popstars album, lots of Blake's 7, The Essential Wolverine and romances called The Dangerous Charmer, The Belated Bride and The Viscount Who Loved Me. Or possibly it was The Belated Viscount, The Bride Who Loved Me and The Dangerous Wolverine.

You bastard!

Not only are amazon worryingly accurate about books I'd like, but since looking I now have three or four new books I want that aren't available in paperback in the UK yet. Bah!

They are totally inaccurate about my musical tastes, though, possibly because I've bought lots of crap from them for my tasteless little sister...

I take no reponsibility for the accuracy, inaccuracy or general surreal weirdness of the Amazon recommendation system. :-)

It's actually reasonably accurate for my music choices - it keeps suggesting things I've already bought from other places. It also suggests Robbie Williams, but we'll say no more about that...
