*thwacks you* Why on earth not? If spending about a year with the intent of pulling you without actually getting round to it doesn't count as a crush, I'd love to know what does...

Generally, though, it seemed to be an odd question - if someone had a crush on me (past tense), I'm not sure LJ needs to know. For that matter, I'm really not sure I need to know, either. I've done my share of "If only I'd known three years ago... too late now..." already.
And if someone has a crush on me now, I can think of a few better ways to find out about it. Announcing it on LJ just seems a bit public/blunt/etc...

When I have a crush one someone they tend to know about it, and vice-versa for the most part, and I forget that other people aren't always like that :)
