Food glorious food

One of the good things about Coventry is that it has an excellent East European deli. As a result, I've just discovered Aivar - a veggie spread made from chilli pepper, tomato, aubergine, onion and garlic. It's quite spicy. It's very good. And it's gorgeous on hot buttered toast for breakfast.

Er, how long have you lived here now...?

This would be the Alma Deli, on Corporation street. Pierogi, chocolate coffee beans, fine coffee, more preserves and pasta than you can shake a stick at, smoked sausages and weird cheeses.

Alma?

The Alma deli on the inner ring road?

Very good place, James and I used to go there quite a bit to stock up on Yogi tea, kabanos, and coffee.

The coffee is very fine.... Mmm.... coffee...

Oh yes. And as well as the ridiculously expensive Blue Mountain, they're now stocking the not-quite-as-costly (but just as nice, IMO) Lebeni Ismaili (sp?) stuff...

Mmm.... coffee...
