Die, Doctor Lucky, Die!

It's been one of those days.

On the plus side, I had a fun evening eating muffins and playing Kill Doctor Lucky with mhw, stgpcm and PaulW.

On the minus side, I'm really not very happy with the review I wrote for the latest Meltdown - my brain must have fallen out, as it's not nearly as clear and coherent as it could have been. Perhaps Usenet has made me lazy - keeping to word limits is much trickier than I remember. Oh well, I'll try to do better next time.

Plus, of course, there's the job thing. It seems that I'm staying on until March 29th, to help with the relocation. So no free time just yet, and plenty of opportunity to find something else before I leave. Now I just need to decide what sort of "something else" I'm searching for, and how far afield I'm prepared to look for it.

Er... honest answer? I'm not sure.

I've got a house holding me here, and I've got a lot of very good friends here, who I don't really want to leave.

But, on the other hand, I've been hear almost twelve years now. That's a long time. This could be an opportunity to go somewhere else, do something else, make a real change. So I have been making vague enquiries. But, again...

Oh, I don't know. We'll see. Whatever, a lot of thinking's going to go into it.

Well Im sure Im not alone in saying this...but you will be missed very much if you do move away...unless you too are moving up north for "you know what"......:)

No, I don't think so. Although it does have some attractions, in principle. :-)

Anyway, Sheffield is poaching enough cov.goths as it is, and doesn't need any more of us.

Mostly, I'm just looking at this as an opportunity to change life/career direction. I'd like to do something which doesn't cause me to spend my evenings swearing about senior management, for a start. ;-)

Sheesh!!...dont come to the NEC then...:)...Im still trying to organise a selected cull of senior managment here....:)....maybe I should move to Sheffield...:)

Is NEC that bad then? Just asking 'cos with a bit of "luck" they may want to employ me.

Not sure what exact department, but not purchasing.
My CV's just got past the HR department so now if the boss person likes it I might get an interview
and then if I don't have a job already I might get work.

Well if you are based in NEC House like I am its quite nice...the Piazza offices are a bit grim though....let me know how you get on....

...and I don't know all the details, but the short version is that Duffy (who's not on LJ) is off to Sheffield Uni,

_gh0st_ is also moving there Real Soon Now, a couple of other people we know have been spending ever-increasing amounts of time in Sheffield and, generally, it seems to be luring lots of Coventry people away.

No fair! We demand reparations! Somebody needs to set up an exchange system and send us some Sheffield people, to compensate! :)
