Hang on...

Just saw an email (from [livejournal.com profile] blankinfinity to the Deathboy list) about Nightmare A'fore Xmas:

Saturday 11th December, 2004
Nightmare A'fore Xmas 4, Marco's, Edinburgh
Je$us Loves Amerika/DEATHBOY/Nervosa

Firstly, that's a line-up I want to see. Although whether I actually get to see it depends on work. :/

Secondly... I thought JLA had split up now? There was certainly a post on upg to that effect. Anyone know the truth of the matter?

True enough. Saying you've split up - especially in a single line "that's it" post - seems a little counterproductive though, even as disinformation.

Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they'd been talked into doing this as a farewell gig if they are bowing out...

Oh, and I owe you an email. Will get my act together and send it now... :)

But is it counterproductive if you just take a break...

People will probably want to see you more if you've just "re-formed"... Mmm...

If you're Siouxsie or the Chameleons and it's a high-profile split, yes. If you're just going to post on a newsgroup and then reform less than six months later... maybe not.

Although this way we might get a second album from them. Which would be a very good thing indeed.

Ah, is that what happened with Arkasai as well? ;)

I'm more surprised by Nervosa being in there, I had *no* idea they were still going. :-) I still recall them playing at the second (I think , maybe third) Whitby I went to.. god that must have been a while ago!

Nervosa reformed very recently and played a gig at the Water Rats in London last month. Different lineup (same singer, and they've still got Craig, so it's OK), and all the set was songs I'd never heard before, but full of energy and bounce. Very much worth going to see.

Same singer? I wasn't sure about that bit - [livejournal.com profile] chimera_s saw that gig and thought it might be a new singer...

But yes, Nervosa good.

If that is the lineup, and JLA are indeed playing, I'm going to be one very happy camper.
