Music industry by numbers

This really unsettles me. One of the clearest demonstrations of how mainstream music is just so much "assembly line" product these days.

Most of mainstream has always been stunningly manufactured. If you think its bad now, just look back at the 80s ('Jive Bunny') and the 70s (The Osmonds). I don't think there ever was a golden age.

I just pointed out here how easy it is to do that kind of thing with certain types of music.
