only logical harm
And while I'm rambling about music, I thought I'd check on the two bands I Will Never Ever Get To See Live...
The Interpol site now has the video for Obstacle 1 up. Hadn't seen it before. It's quite good.
Unfortunately, it doesn't list any live dates.
The British Sea Power site is a little more encouraging. They are playing some shows. In fact, they're playing Birmingham and Leicester. Both within easy reach of Cov.
But they're playing those shows when I'm in Whitby. Arse. Of course, they're playing Norwich the Monday I come back from Whitby... and Bristol on the Tuesday... but I somehow doubt that I'll make it to either of those. Grrr.
And let's not even mention the f%$king Pixies, eh? Well, not unless someone wants to swap me tickets for money/beer/my immortal soul, anyway. :(

Re:
British Sea Power
the down side is, the only exposure I've had to BSP was their performance on Joolz Holland and I wasn't that impressed. But that's probably because they were on the same night as REM.

I have vague memories of talking to someone a while back about a band that was allegedly quite good from over there, but haven't been able to remember who it was (it was a Whitby night I believe ;) ) or what the band was called :O)

Re:
The most likely one is Psydoll, as they played Leeds last year.
The other alternative is ATP, Adenosine Tri-Phosphate.
Both are pretty good. Psydoll have a much more industrial touch, whereas ATP are quite slow and atmospheric a lot of the time.
You can hear some Psydoll stuff on their site (and on Iuma, which is links to), but I don't know how to get their albums over here at the moment. ATP have an album available through Darkcell (and possibly MNS), though.
