he got off the manslaughter charge on the basis that he 'couldn't have known the bloke would end up dead' - ie. from my understanding, there seems to be evidence that he *did* ask someone to do bad things to the bloke, but not specifically to kill him...
IE - If they had charged him with a lesser offense it would have been more likely to have stuck - or something...
But yes, he does indeed sound like a v. nasty piece of work...
