Ah well...

Seems they've just let van Hoogstraten out. Joy.

I'm sure they had their reasons, but still... the world seemed a better place when he (and Archer) were behind bars.

sounds like a case of over-charging to me...

he got off the manslaughter charge on the basis that he 'couldn't have known the bloke would end up dead' - ie. from my understanding, there seems to be evidence that he *did* ask someone to do bad things to the bloke, but not specifically to kill him...

IE - If they had charged him with a lesser offense it would have been more likely to have stuck - or something...

But yes, he does indeed sound like a v. nasty piece of work...

In Sussex (where I come from), he has a distinctly shady reputation. Someone to avoid.
