There's always next year

Nope, I'm not doing C9. My self-imposed deadline for a decision was early January - although when they said they'd have all the bands confirmed by end of Jan, I extended it a little.

Well, it's February, and while I still don't know who the bands are going to be, I've not got the money and I'm definitely not going.

If they now announce a line up I really want to see, I'll mope - but it's not something I can attend without dropping out of Whitby, InFest or the Leipzig WGT. All of which I've already committed to.

And yes, I'll miss seeing a lot of people. *sigh* But I will be there next year. Definitely. Wherever it is, whoever's playing.

Update: No sooner do I say this, than... still, out of the two bands announced, I don't know Reverb TV at all, and I've not been that struck on the tiny bit o' Babylonian Tiles I've heard on compilations. So, no, not moping yet. Well, not over-and-above the basic "wah, not gonna make C9" mopage...

Unrelated really

With any luck, next year will be Chicago for the 10th Anniversary.
I HAVE to be at that one!

I'm hoping for Chicago, too. Fingers crossed...

Me too, as it's within driving distance of "home".

And two bands isn't a particularly impressive announcement.

No.

Especially as neither of them are Goteki or D.U.S.T.

None of them are Synthetic, Rome Burns or Manuskript, either. Ho hum.

Or any of the large number of US-based bands I'd kill to see.

Yep. I just have far less clue as to which of them sent submissions... :)

Would've loved to have seen Drowning Season or Gossamer, though.
