Osama? No, definitely no Osama here...

The Guardian has a rather illuminating take on this.

Basically, the BBC made a dreadful error and mistakenly accused Oryx Natural Resources of being connected to Osama Bin Laden. Ooops. You can see how a respectable mining company might get a little upset about that. So Oryx demanded a massive £12000000 compensation...

...but unexpectedly settled for less than 5% of that, out of court. Why the sudden desire to settle up? Well, yes, the BBC was wrong, and they're definitely not acting as a front for Bin Laden...

...but probably only because they're too busy acting as a front for Robert Mugabe, instead.

It's almost funny.

Mugabe is out of his tree anyway, and should be next on the 'to bomb' list :/
