Not dead, only sleeping

It's been a busy week.

I spent Friday in London, wandering around Camden Market with [livejournal.com profile] zotz before heading on to the Wasp Factory gig @ the Garage. Zwartenblauw were pretty good (and surprisingly confident for a band playing their first gig) Tarantella Serpentine (who I'd not seen before) was intense, energetic and (alas) TOO LOUD. D.U.S.T. were on form IMHO (although opinions vary) and Chaos Engine were an all-conquering scary noisy thing. Although by that point my ears/head couldn't take any more, so I ended up slinking off just before the encore, and skipping Tenebrae in favour of a good night's sleep.

Saturday was mostly spent in Cambridge, and mostly drinking beer in the KSR, with Zotz and Stoo. Then on to the Rome Burns gig, and back to London on the last(ish) train. 'Twas fun.

Sunday was Elektrofest. Kinetic were fun and just a little bit kitsch. The Sepia were better than when I'd seen them crammed onto the Garage upstairs stage (and I'm looking forward to the album). Good sets, as usual, from Swarf (who refused to be sabotaged by Microsoft) and Synthetic (Paul slipped in some onstage beer and fell over during the last track... not completely unexpected, but I always assumed it'd be those GuitarRockGod jumps that got him in the end...). Komputer... er, well. The Nine were good and energetic, Beborn Beton and And One were both great fun.

Back to Coventry on Monday, then back to Cambridge with [livejournal.com profile] dmh for the Calling on Tuesday. Which was much fun, for the most part - and the first time I've seen [livejournal.com profile] ghoti in ages. Mustn't drink quite so much white wine next time, though.

Wednesday, Thursday... shopping and sleep. Sleep is good. Praise sleep.

Of course, the fact I've almost entirely given up caffeine may have something to do with that bit... :)
