On the plus side, I finally have my own copy of Tinariwen's Amassakoul CD. And it's really very good.
On the minus side, they aren't playing the Whitby Spa in October - until recently they were listed (with a 'tbc') as the Saturday night headliner of the Musicport festival, which is the week before WGW. I was more than a little tempted to turn up early and stay for a week, with the two festivals as bookends...
